TiVo Veto
I ordered a TiVo this morning—or at least I tried. A great deal got emailed to me this morning courtesy of dealnews.com: get the 60-hour TiVo Series2 for $265 from GoodGuys.com after a 10% off coupon and a $50 rebate. After I went through the whole ordering process (which, for me, includes a lot of hand-wringing), the website blew up.

Then I stumbled on an article from yesterday’s Slate, “TiVo, We Hardly Knew Ye,” something I probably should have read before I clicked the Complete Order button. More than anything, I probably watch too much television already—using a TiVo would at least let me watch better television, and on my terms instead of theirs. But somebody’s trying to tell me something. I’m gonna hold off and see what happens. Thanks, Microsoft VBScript error.

It wasn’t meant to be. Maybe that error was trying to tell you to get out of the house more often.

another “TiVo-tee” steps up!
Not to mention to ease of recording… so easy in fact, that I find myself recording too much.

I am intrigued by TiVo…but after spending $300+ on DirecTV last year, I probably won’t be going down that road in quite some time. If it sticks around, we might try out the DirecTV with TiVo built in….yeah baby.
