barkingmoose: Flick gets stuck.
Flick gets stuck.
A Christmas Story is one of those movies that grows on you year after year (or hour after hour if you’re watching during the TNT marathon all Christmas Day). If you’ve seen it, you remember the scene when Ralphie’s friend Flick gets his tongue stuck to the flagpole on a triple dog dare. Another child actor who auditioned for that movie points out that Scottie Schwartz (the actor who played Flick) went on to have a short-lived career in adult films. There are so many things I could add to that, but I’ll just leave it alone.

In other news, a company in Daytona Beach called One Leg Up sells authentic leg lamps just like the one Old Man Parker won in the movie. It’s too late for holiday gift-giving since each lamp is built to order, but wouldn’t it look great in your window? Maybe next year.

Hey, you've got comments you flash bastard.

I only saw the Christmas Story for the first time last year. I thought it was a very sweet little movie, and deserved its place as best loved Children's Christmas Movie.

One question: Where did Flick end up getting his tongue stuck in his later career?

See, I was trying to leave that alone, but turned the comments on hoping someone else would take a shot. Thanks for simultaneously affirming that decision and making me rethink it.

ahhh I did not see the title. Looks like you already had a poke at it yourself, if you pardon the expression.
