barkingmoose: Definitely a little scary looking.
Casey Affleck in Ocean’s Eleven.
Whenever he hears the sound of a dog barking in a movie or tv show, Moose starts to bristle and growl. If there’s a doorbell—even if it doesn’t sound like our doorbell—he’s up and at the front window in a split second. A clip from Ocean’s Eleven just came on, the scene when Casey Affleck is racing his remote-controlled truck against Scott Caan’s monster truck. As soon as the buzz from the toy truck started, Moose jumped up and stared right at the screen, not sure how to react to that weird noise. He cocked his head and looked confused. I honestly think that he’d meant to bark, but the impulse was stifled by the sight of Affleck’s hair.

Whatever, I thought the movie was exactly what I’d expected—completely predictable, and still very enjoyable. (And I was glad to see that it displaced that other movie at the box office, although I’m not sure I can explain why.) At one point, though, Don Cheadle let loose an utterly unconvincing “guvna” in his British accent. Even though it made me groan, I’d been able to suspend my disbelief enough that it seemed to fit somehow—just like Casey Affleck’s hair.
