barkingmoose: Friday night we went to Kabul Restaurant in Philadelphia’s Old City. We enjoyed a great selection of authentic Afghan cuisine—we started with pumpkin-stuffed Bulanee turnovers, then sampled Kabuli-Palaw and Kabul-Kabab, and enjoyed a Firnee for dessert. It was all very accessible, even for a suburbanite like me, but it was a way to participate in a sort of reverse xenophobic backlash.
