barkingmoose: Top Ramen Cajun Chicken
The new prison currency?
From the Des Moines Register: One of the most popular-selling items among inmates is ramen noodles, which cost 24 cents each and come in flavors ranging from Cajun chicken to Texas beef. An average of 23,000 packages of Ramen noodles are sold monthly. Inmates cook the noodles in their cells with electric hot pots.

College kids eating ramen think they have it tough, but these hardened ramen eaters could teach them a thing or two. I wonder if the prison population has discovered the Ramen Recipe Database yet. They’d probably have some interesting recipes to offer: “How to make perfect ramen noodles—during a shakedown.”

I wanna see an episode of “Oz” where the currency of choice is packets of ramen noodles instead of cigarettes. Schillinger and his goons try to corner the market on Chicken Mushroom, and someone gets shanked in the commissary over the last packet of Picante Beef.
